Antares only hires help desk IT professionals and advances employees to more challenging positions with higher pay after only 6-8 months. We understand the help desk is rarely a career choice but a good place to start for IT professionals seeking to advance their system administration carer by gaining exposure to many areas of the technology field.

Starting pay at $15.50/hr. or about $35,000 a year including an average of 10 hours of overtime a month. Additional quarterly bonuses of $750 effective after first three months of employment. Paid sick and vacation (require one consecutive week of paid vacation a year). Annual SEP/IRA company contribution based on company performance. Performance-based pay increase at 6 months. 

Shift is M-F from 10:30am to 6:30pm or 8:00am to 4:00pm depending on seniority. Occasional evening and weekend work possible.

Applicants still interested in the opportunity but do not qualify for the necessary IT knowledge requirements can apply for an internship for up to 25 hours a week and potential for full-time position in six months. Job Responsibilities:

  • Help Desk Level 1, 2 phone and email support

  • New user and workstation setup, user management

  • Computer hardware repair (in office)

  • Server and backup auditing

  • Assist project managers on new projects (out of office)

  • Quoting and purchasing for clients

  • Managing support tickets and purchasing within system

  • Consumable renewals (SSL certificates, domains, security, etc.)

  • Other

Required Personality Qualifications:

  • Strong work ethic, willing to stay extra hours to complete assignments

  • Ability to work in a small team environment of professionals

  • Effectively communicates with clients and other team members

  • Excellent problem solving skills

  • Takes responsibility for assigned work and sees it to completion

  • Ability to handle high levels of stress and heavy workload

  • Ability to quickly learn new skills

  • Ability to multitask on up to 10 assignments at a time

  • Email inbox is organized, take notes when learning something new and can keep files updated

Required Experience and Education:

  • Associates degree or better in a system or network administration study

  • OR

  • High school diploma or GED with 12 months or more help desk experience

Required IT Knowledge Areas

  • Demonstrated ability to build a computer without assistance

  • Demonstrated knowledge of TCP/IP networking including subnetting, DNS, DHCP and NAT

  • Knowledge of network hardware such as firewalls, switches, routers and modems; how they are used

  • General understanding of Microsoft Server 2008 and newer operating systems

  • Demonstrated knowledge of Windows desktop operating systems

  • Demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft Office 2007 or newer Excel, Word and Outlook

  • General understanding of Apple OSX desktop operating systems

  • Demonstrated knowledge of Apple iOS and Android 4.X and 5.X mobile OS email accounts and settings

  • Demonstrated knowledge of malware removal using security software or manual methods

  • General understanding of Microsoft Group Policy and how it is utilized

  • General understanding of virtual server software and how it is utilized

  • Demonstrated knowledge of Acronis, Ghost or other imaging software
